I work at Flagstaff Medical Center with Becky, and even though we don’t work in the same department, her reputation as a great employee precedes her. So, I was excited when I got a call about a Christmas family photo shoot. The family would all be together and is a collection of empty photo frames that needed to be filled.
We went back and forth on a few location options, but ultimately decided to shoot at a cool rock formation behind their Flagstaff, Arizona home. I kept thinking this place would have been an amazing fort-heaven for a 10-year-old. There were so many amazing places to build secret forts and to explore. And if there had been leaves on the trees, this place would have been right out of a scene from the Chronicles of Narnia.
We headed out on a small trail before bushwhacking people and photographic gear through the dense thicket into a small clearing where we found some family magic. Becky and her husband Tom was there with their son, Wes, and their two daughters, Brittany and Alex and their husbands, Karel and Ethan.
It was just great to see such a close, loving family. All I had to do was point my camera in their direction to capture the magic. There was no awkwardness or hesitation. There was just smiles and happy and a family who loves being around each other. Such a great afternoon! Thank you letting me capture a sliver of who you are as a family.
